In order to achieve the proposed goals, Spring Costume systematically invests in the Creative Design Process, researching materials and methods in production technology, training employees, promoting an organizational culture that encourages the fulfillment of requirements, improvement continuous process of the Quality Management system processes and development of solutions that give added value to the company and to the market.
Therefore, in the scope of Social Responsibility, Spring Costume undertakes to continuously improve its social performance by integrating the following principles into its overall management:
  1. To promote to all persons and companies that provide services to them in compliance with the SA8000 Standard, namely Child Labor, Forced or Compulsory Labor, Health and Safety, Freedom of Association and Right to Collective Bargaining, Discrimination, Disciplinary Practices, Work Schedule, Remuneration, and Management Practices set forth in SA8000, pursuant to the Declaration of Commitment to Social Responsibility, signed by the Company's management, and attached to this Policy.
  2. To develop labor practices that comply with the international instruments subscribed to by the SA8000 standard, such as the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the Declaration of the International Labor Organization and other international human rights;
  3. Promote preventive and corrective actions that contribute to the continuous improvement of the commitments assumed.
Spring Costume also respect the principles of labor law applicable to the company and the following international documents:
  • ILO Convention 1 (working hours - industry) and Recommendation 116 (reduction of working hours);
  • ILO Conventions 29 (Forced Labor) and 105 (Abolition of Forced Labor); • ILO Convention 87 (Freedom of Association)
  • ILO Convention 98 (Right to Organize and Negotiate Collectively)
  • ILO Conventions 100 (equivalent remuneration for male and female workers for equivalent work) and 111 (Discrimination - Employment and Occupation);

Spring Costume acknowledges its responsibility for all Stakeholders, including direct and indirect employees, shareholders, customers, suppliers, subcontractors, and other relevant stakeholders.
Spring Costume developed a strategy to ensure a sustainable implementation of Social Responsibility issues throughout the supply chain.
The fundamental principles of Spring Costume are summarized in this Conduct Code, which lists the basic principles and requirements applicable to its employees and suppliers.
The Conduct Code is regularly updated and distributed to all stakeholders.
Suppliers and subcontractors should publish the Code of Conduct in their local language, in accessible and visible locations, so that all employees are able to read it. In addition, suppliers and subcontractors must ensure that all employees are aware of this code.
Compliance with the Code is assessed through evaluation visits (audits) conducted by our team or authorized companies. Only companies that have compliance with this code are authorized to work with Spring Costume.
Spring Costume Lda. has adopted the requirements of Standard SA 8000 to develop a socially responsible activity.
As Manager, Dra. Helena Coelho assumes the commitment of the company to the 9 requirements of said Standard:
<>1)Forced and Compulsory Labor: The Company does not support, or practice forced or compulsory labor.
  • Safety and Health: The Company guarantees that its employees work in a safe environment, minimizing the inherent risks of the activity, being strictly in accordance with the National Legislation in this matter.
  • Freedom of Association and Right to Collective Bargaining: The Company respects the right of all employees to form and join trade unions of workers of their choice and to bargain collectively.
  • Discrimination: The Company does not support or implement discrimination practices.
  • Disciplinary Practices: The Company does not support or develop practices of corporal punishment, mental or physical coercion and mental abuse.
  • Working Hours: The Company complies with the laws and standards applicable to its activity.
  • Compensation: The Company ensures that monthly salaries are enough to meet the basic needs of employees and provide some extra income.
  • Management system SA 8000: The Company has integrated the requirements of the Social Responsibility Management System into its Management System, committing itself to complying with them.
    The established requirements apply to the entire company as well as the entities that work on its behalf.
